In 1998 Kiu Angiki made a giant leap from his tropical Polynesian islands Rennell & Bellona in the Solomon Islands all the way to Denmark.
In the Solomons, Kiu's artistic activities consisted of creating tattoo patterns and woodcarving. He was also engaged in the performing arts, such as dancing traditional as well as modern polynesian dances in various dancegroups. Finally he worked as a singer in several bands.
In Denmark Kiu picked up watercolors, and later, oil painting. This has resulted in a large production of paintings portraying the merger of two worlds, two cultures, two languages, two dramatically different geographical locations.
